These aren’t just rad “ish” … they are Rad AF, and this is our first one out of the ground this season! Because we are growing so many radishes this year, I did some extra research on the benefits.
First of all, they are loaded with vitamin C, and can help relieve congestion and prevent respiratory issues (which I personally needed last weekend)…how in the world did I end up with a random cold in June and nothing all winter?)🙃
Radishes actually have powerful detoxifying properties and are known to supply fresh oxygen to the blood. They are one of those “anti” everything roots from the brassica family. Antibacterial, anti fungal, antiviral, antimicrobial… you name it! Whenever we are about to eat a radish, my hubby loves to remind me that radishes are highly recommeded in the mucusless diet system that he did a while back and felt amazing benefits from.
Another thing I loved finding out about radishes are that they are a diuretic. They help cleanse the kidneys and urinary system, and can help with inflammation in general. Good stuff!!!
They are very easy and fast to grow organically. 👩🌾 If you are new to gardening, try radishes for some “almost” instant gratification! Also, don’t throw away the leaves… they are edible and add a delicious peppery taste in your salad or green juice!
